The Okanagan is one of the most unique landscapes on our planet. Carved out by glaciers between two ever-growing, grinding belts of mountains that have been pushing their way out of the ocean for millions of years.

And it’s a landscape that doesn’t need that level of appreciation, it doesn’t take much to come here from other places and have an outstanding time… how can you not smile after seeing so many beautiful lakes.

If you do venture off the beaten path even enough to explore Bear Creek, you’ll find shocking canyons, waterfalls, jumping cactus that might catch a ride on your shoe… or your dogs paws.

If you go a little farther, you might find yourself snowshoeing high on a mountain in the sun, with an ocean of views across the landscape below.

Or in a pocket of forest protected from the sun with ferns, cedars and nettle, and you’d swear you were on the coast.

Or, in a landscape you won’t find anywhere else in Canada, standing among sage brush cooked by the sun, single lone pine trees dot the horizon, and you’re doing your best not to meet a rattlesnake that day.
